Professionals that operate their own businesses need professional liability insurance in
addition standard property and liability policies. Professional Liability Coverage protects
businesses against financial losses as a result of lawsuits stemming from professional
services rendered and suits filed against them by their clients.
Professionals are expected to have extensive technical knowledge or training in their
particular area of expertise. They are also expected to perform the services for which they
were hired, according to the standards of conduct in their profession. If they fail to use the
degree of skill expected of them, they can be held responsible in a court of law for any
harm they cause to another person or business. When liability is limited to acts of
negligence, professional liability insurance may be called "errors and omissions" liability.
Professional liability insurance is a specialty coverage. Professional liability coverage is
not provided under traditional commercial general liability policies, commercial package
policies, business owners policies (BOPs) or homeowners endorsements.

Option for defense outside of the limits
First dollar defense coverage is an optional endorsement
Punitive Damages covered where insurable
Non-profit D&O Liability coverage - automatic up to $500,000 sublimit
Career coverage for prior work of lateral hires
Non-practicing attorney reporting period available at no additional charge for eligible
attorneys who retire from practicing law prior to the policy expiration
Up to $10 million in limits
For law firms of 10 or fewer attorneys, but firms with more than 10 attorneys are
acceptable and will likely take up to 5 business days to get a quote.
Available in all states.
Process for Quotes and Binding:
Complete, sign and date the attached application
Applicable supplemental forms (e.g., claim history)
The quote and brokerage proposal will be sent to you within 2 to 3 business days
